OUR HISTORY
Blair Sterling Johnson & Martinez, P.C., traces its roots to the solo practice of J. Bradley Klemm, which he established in 1975.
In December 1976, Mr. Klemm partnered with Alan E. Dear and Willis R. Lawrence to form Klemm Dear & Lawrence. Mr. Lawrence eventually left the firm to become in-house counsel for Duty Free Shoppers International. Mr. Dear later retired and contributed a great deal of time in his later years toward improving the Guam Territorial Law Library.
Since then, the firm has hired and trained a great deal of local legal talent, with several of the firm's alumni moving on to become partners at large and prestigious international law firms and to take positions as in-house counsel for international corporations. The firm's alumni also include Hon. Peter C. Siguenza, Jr., former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Guam, and Hon. Jeffrey L. Beattie, former Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Palau.
Mr. Klemm served as the firm's President until 2001, when William Blair was elected to the position. In December 2013, Mr. Klemm retired from the day-to-day practice of law.
William J. Blair served as President of Blair Sterling Johnson & Martinez until his unexpected death in 2019.
