Ms. Kim practices in a variety of corporate, commercial and intellectual property matters, including commercial litigation. She advises a wide range of companies and individuals, including small businesses, privately-owned and public companies. In addition, she speaks fluent Korean and has experience advising Korean companies.
Ms. Kim’s law career follows a wide range of experience in business. Prior to law school, Ms. Kim worked in the business strategy and global marketing departments for one of the world’s largest consumer electronics company located in Seoul, Korea. As a manager, she led and managed international projects in the U.S., Europe and Africa. She also gained professional experience in retail, sporting goods brands and insurance. Her professional experience in business helps her understand real-world business issues and day-to-day challenges faced by each client.
Ms. Kim received her Juris Doctor degree cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law where she concentrated on commercial law. During law school, she served as an articles editor for the Illinois Business Law Journal. She graduated in the top 11% of her class from Ewha Women’s University in Seoul with a Bachelor of Arts in French and a minor in English.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Kim worked as an associate at a law firm located in Seoul. She also worked on various transactional matters in-house and at law firms located in Illinois as a summer associate and in the Champaign County Circuit Court as a judicial extern. She is admitted to practice in New York and Guam.
