Biography

Mr. Deinhart has thirty years of experience as a lawyer in Guam, Ohio, and Arizona. He spent fifteen of those years managing his own practice where he gained experience litigating a broad range of subject areas.

 

Mr. Deinhart began his legal career at a law firm in the greater Cleveland, Ohio area in 1983. Seeking adventure and thinking they would return to Ohio after a couple of years, Mr. Deinhart and his wife moved to Guam in 1988 as a prosecutor where he worked for three years, handling all manner of criminal cases. After leaving the prosecutor’s office, he remained on Guam and returned to a private, civil litigation practice.  In 2001, Mr. Deinhart and his family moved to Arizona where his children attended middle school and high school.  In 2009, he and his wife returned to Guam, finding that they missed the island, the ocean, and the people.  

 

On returning to Guam, Mr. Deinhart joined Blair Sterling Johnson & Martinez.  His practice is focused in the areas of insurance defense litigation, business litigation, insurance and banking licensing and regulation, probate and estate work, collections, and creditor bankruptcy matters.  Mr. Deinhart is also an experienced arbitrator.

 

Mr. Deinhart is a the vice-chair to the Guam Bar Association Investigative Panel of Professional Ethics and Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee.  

Community Involvement

Throughout his many years of practice, Martin has donated his time and energy, providing pro bono representation to non-profit organizations and consultation with communities on neighborhood projects. Like other members of the firm, Martin has volunteered as a coach and judge for high school mock trial competitions.  

 

In addition to keeping busy at work, Martin enjoys being active in the outdoors. He is an avid hiker, snorkeler, and SCUBA diver.
