Judiciary of Guam

Current as of ADM20-220, dated April 10, 2020.

On April 10, 2010, the Supreme Court of Guam issued ADM20-220, which extended timelines set forth in ADM20-210, ADM20-211, and ADM20-214 from April 15, 2020, to May 6, 2020 or until further ordered.

All civil and criminal trials remain suspended—without exception—until no earlier than May 6, 2020 or until further ordered.

All filing deadlines continue to be suspended until May 6, 2020 or until further ordered.  This includes statutory filing deadlines.  Any filing due during this period will be deemed timely filed if filed when the Judiciary of Guam reopens for regular business on May 6, 2020.

All speedy trial computations (under 8 G.C.A. § 80.60), time periods for preliminary examination, and time periods for filing of an indictment shall also be tolled during the time period covered by the Court’s current orders.

Pursuant to a March 31, 2020 memorandum, the Guam Law Library will be closed until April 13, 2020.

Pursuant to ADM20-218, the July 2020 Guam Bar Examination has been cancelled.  The Board of Law Examiners will reschedule the examination for September 9-10, 2020.  The Board will provide information regarding application deadlines and other matters at the following link: http://www.guamcourts.org/Board-of-Law-Examiners/Board-of-Law-Examiners.html
